Do you need Gas Safety Certification for your restaurant?

All businesses with gas appliances must follow the legal requirement of having an annual Gas Safety Certificate. Here’s our low-down on what you need to know to stay friendly with the HSE and customers.

Just like your car needs servicing, so does your catering equipment. It’s best practice to be on top of this in order to prevent damage and fines in the future. The HSE themselves recommend that you service your catering equipment and refrigeration at least once a year to ensure your tools of trade work in a safe and efficient manner. If your equipment has a warranty over a year it may be a requirement under your warranty terms to follow out servicing. Insurance companies tend to follow suit with requiring certain items to be serviced in order to be covered.

It’s important to not let your money go to waste. Having your equipment serviced may seem pricey but facing fines, and having insurance/warranties be made invalid, is a much faster way to lose money and stunt your business.
